What is Cranial Osteopathy?
Cranial Osteopathy ...
Cranial Osteopathy is another technique that I use to help the body recover its function.
It is a misleading term as the technique can be applied to any area of the body as well as the head. The body makes continuous rhythmical cycles of motion such as breathing and heart beat that can be seen, and cranial rhythm which is so subtle it cannot be seen.
Combining a knowledge of anatomy with light touch, I use my hands to "listen" for decreased movement or strains in the body. I am able to feel these movements because I have a highly developed sense of touch and am trained to feel these very subtle, rhythmical shape changes that occur in all body tissues. Small movements are made by the me to help the tissues to adjust and resolve the strain within them.
This gentle technique often belies the effectiveness of the therapy as most clients report feeling nothing more than subtle sensations during a typical session.
